Attendance Rules

  • The School seeks co-operation from parents in exercising utmost discretion in excusing children from school.
  • 75% attendance (working days) is a pre-requisite for a student to sit for the semester / final examinations for all classes (nursery to XII). The school reserves the right to withhold a student from appearing in the semester / final examination or withhold promotion in case the minimum attendance requirement is not fulfilled.
  • Attendance is compulsory on :

    • The opening and closing day of each term and the working day immediately preceding or following a long holiday. Students not attending school on these days are liable to have their names struck off the rolls.
    • A fortnight before the term examination. Students taking unscheduled study leave will be debarred from appearing for the respective examinations / test.
    • Official school events such as Sports Day, speech Day, Independence Day, and Sports meet / Concert practices or Extra Classes. Failure to do entails punishment/ disciplinary action.
  • If a student is absent from school for one day, the attendance record provided in the diary should be duly filled by parent/ Guardian and submitted to the teacher. However, a student absent from school for more than two days must submit an application stating the reason for his absence written briefly and duly signed by his parents. All such applications must be addressed to the principal and submitted on the first day of the child’s re-joining school.
  • If a student is absent for more than two consecutive days or on any Friday, his parents must meet the principal to explain the reasons for the absence.
  • In case of long term illness, the parent / Guardian must personally inform the Principal and Class Teacher about the nature and likely durations of the student’s illness. A medical certificate in original (not prescription) should be submitted along with the application for leave.
  • Children afflicted with contagious or infectious disease or exposed to such disease in their homes must complete the quarantine period before joining school. No student afflicted with any such disease will be permitted to attend school till he brings medical certificate of fitness and / or the school gets the child examined and finds him fit.
  • If any student is continuously absent for a month, without sufficient prior notification (to the principal), his name will be struck off the roll, even if he has paid the fees on time.
  • Parents / Guardians are expected to plan their holidays / travel plans, family functions, etc. to coincide with the long school vacations. Leave for the same during the season will NOT be sanctioned.
  • Parents / Guardians are expected to play their part in enforcing regularity, punctuality and discipline by attending Parent-Teacher meetings regularly and by ensuring that their wards prepare their lessons daily and are present for all the tests/ exams, unless the student is sick for which a medical certificate should be given promptly.
